Are You Registered as a Veteran Owned Business?

Here at the Veterans Business Resource Center, part of the VBA initiatives, we council veterans and their families on business start-ups and expanding existing businesses. When it comes to finding business and attracting customers to their business, many veteran owned businesses fall short.

There is value to creating an effective marketing plan that simply describes your business and your relationship with your customers. But, where do these customers come from. Any business, especially a small business must make efforts to attract customers. - the build-it-and-they-will-come is a myth. Retail establishments have to advertise their products AND their location in order for folks to find the business. Contractors and service businesses must also do the same AND they have to go out and look for customers in the real world.

Whether your business relies solely on government contracts or not, if you are not registered with a variety of on-line government websites, you are missing out on some real business. Major prime contractors use  these on-line tools to find subcontractors and suppliers every day. You may qualify to register in more than one category - look to see if you qualify as a Historically Underutilized Business (HUB), as an 8(a) contractor, or as a Service Connected Disabled Veteran Owned Business (SCVOB). So, use the links below - get going and get registered now!
